Yaala Ballin Quartet

On May 21,2011,   Yaala Ballin, and her quartet,  including Ray Gallon (piano), Neal Miner (bass), and Danny Rosenfeld (drums) performed the great standards of the jazz repertoire at the Puffin Cultural Forum in Teaneck New Jersey.  Dating from the late 1920’s to the glamorous swing era of the 1950’s, this music, as interpreted by Yaala and her group, is as relevant today as it was when it was written. Her music is influenced by the likes of Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, and Dinah Washington.  The program included songs from her last album, “Travelin’ Alone” (Smalls Records) and her new release “On the Road” (Gallery Records).
